In reviewing term "collection instrument" in GSBPM, the Group suggested to use "exchange channel" instead of "collection instrument" because "collection instrument" is not an information object defined in GSIM.
The Group suggested to add "Collection Exchange Channels" and "Dissemination Exchange Channels" to GSIM 1.1.

25 Jan, 2018Happy to see that the proposal was Collection Exchange Channel and not just Collection Channel.
We had Collection Channel in our vision and it caused a lot of confusion because there has to be a dialogue with Information Providers and then some colleagues wondered whether they had to use the Dissemination Channel for that!
No strong opinions on whether to add these or not. The dashed line & text in Figure 7. Exchange Channels in GSIM v1.1 Specification does illustrate the difference.
