Using and visualising gridded data

13 December 2022 - 17.00 Geneva time

This coffee talk featured the following presentations, followed by an open discussion:

1) Kevin Sahr (Southern Oregon University) – “Getting More from DGGRID - Tips for users of hexagonal Discrete Global Grids (DGGs)"

In our last GFGS Coffee Talk we introduced DGGRID, a command line tool for working with hexagonal DGGs. In this talk we will build on that foundation and explore more of the capabilities of DGGRID.

2) Julien Gaffuri (Eurostat) - "Visualising gridded statistics on the web with Gridviz library"

Gridviz is library for the visualisation of gridded statistics on the web. It allows multi-resolution, multi-variate and multi-thematic exploration of gridded statistics, with a rich and extendable list of cartographic styles. The library is open-source and available for all users and contributors. See on: https://github.com/eurostat/gridviz/.
