(Feedback from Statistics Sweden; 2 October, 2017)

We have noted that when the final output is not statistics but a register, some producers feel that the GSBPM does not reflect their situation and their processes. While we do not think this means there is a need to change the actual GSBPM, further work should be devoted to describing the GSBPM from different production perspectives. At Statistics Sweden we have created a document that details which parts of our process model are relevant for registers and how. That document could be an input to deepen the descriptions.

A few years ago we did some work to apply GSBPM to statistical business registers. Some countries joined Eurostat-funded projects on this. We recognized the case where the output is a sampling frame (so quite similar to the case mentioned by Sweden).  The results are in the paper at https://statswiki.unece.org/download/attachments/57835551/BR%20meeting%20paper2.doc  They might be useful when discussing this issue.
