To make the technical pilot material understandable and documented, implementation and usage guidelines are required covering the following aspects:

  • The scope, purpose, and deadline of the technical pilot;
  • what is expected from pilot participants;
  • an explanation of the individual items in the technical pilot material and how to use them;
  • an explanation of the SDMX artefacts, in particular the Concept Scheme, Concepts, Code Lists, Data Flows, and DSDs;
  • some details on how to use the tools involved in the pilot, e.g. the SDMX registry;
  • any technical particularities, e.g. SDMX message formats expected, SDMX header fields that are required.

Annexes should be included for useful examples and associated information, such as technical references to guidelines, contacts, classification details, etc.

This phase is complete when the implementation and usage guidelines have been drafted so that they can be included in the pilot material package (the next phase).

A template will be provided for an implementation and usage guidelines document.
