Definition | Body Mass Index (BMI) is the international standard for measuring underweight, overweight, and obesity and is defined as the weight of a person (in kilogrammes) divided by the square of the person's height (in metres). Standard BMI categories are: BMI less than 18.5 = underweight. BMI between 25 and 30 = overweight. BMI 30 and more = obesity. |
