Machine Learning for Official Statistics Workshop 2023 (in person in Geneva, Switzerland from 5 to 7 June)

About the meeting

Machine learning draws increasing attention among statistical organisations as it helps make the production processes more efficient and allows the analysis of the vast amount of information from new data sources, thus improving the timeliness and relevance of official statistics. While the specific business environments may vary depending on the country, statistical organisations face similar types of challenges which can benefit from sharing knowledge and experiences, and collaborating on developing common solutions within the broad official statistical community.

The Machine Learning for Official Statistics Workshop 2023 aims to bring together experts in national and international statistical organisations to share developments in the field and discuss issues and challenges. The programme of the meeting consists of following sessions:

  • Session 1: Machine Learning Applications
  • Session 2: Quality Aspects of Machine Learning in Official Statistics
  • Session 3: Toward System-wide Transformation of Statistical Production

Detailed information and examples of topics to be covered in the meeting, registration, contributions and other organizational aspects can be found in Information Notice #1.
