The project may require the provision of data that are not part of the existing data production. In this case a new data production process design must be defined.

Examine the current domain's statistical business process and compare it to the project requirements. Decide if the provision requirements will result in a new data collection or a new aggregation of data that are already collected. For a new data collection, it is strongly recommended to follow the GSBPM phases from 2.1 to 2.5; in case of new aggregation follow the GSBPM phase 2.5.

When designing the new data process, it is important to consider if data can be produced in the structure of the project's DSDs; for example, the coding of the concepts. This choice can simplify the mapping phase.
