The table below presents a selection of papers on transitions to new census methods and development of innovative methods, focusing on the experiences of UNECE member countries. The columns with green headers indicate the types of censuses to which the various papers refer.
The table includes mainly papers presented at various meetings organized by UNECE in the period 2006-2014, referring to censuses of the 2010 and 2020 rounds. The table will be extended including additional papers and other material also from other sources.
This table is maintained by UNECE, in cooperation with census experts from member countries. Suggestions for additional/updated papers to be included in the table should be sent by e-mail.
SORTING THE TABLE: The table can be sorted by clicking on the header of each column. For instance, clicking on the header of the "Combined census" column will show at the top of the table the papers referring to a combined census. Similarly, papers can be sorted by year of the census or year of publication clicking on the header of the respective columns.
Last update (January 2019): Papers added for Germany, Italy, Poland and United Kingdom
