2015 Workshop on the Communication of Statistics 

 27– 29 April 2015, Washington, D.C., USA

UNECE's Dissemination and Communication Steering Group held a workshop on the Communication of Statistics, hosted by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics in Washington, D.C.

The workshop addressed the challenges faced by statistical organizations to communicate effectively with all their audiences and stakeholders.The objective was to exchange experiences and best practices on the communication and dissemination of statistics.

 

Topics included:

  • Social Media
  • Apps, APIs and Open Data
  • Digital Publishing of Statistics
  • Building and Maintaining the Credibility of Official Statistics

The workshop was held back-to-back with a workshop on statistical data collection, in order to bring the two communities together to explore commonalities and identify potential synergies. One common topic was:

  • Linking Data Collection and Communication
